In many ways, 2020 has been a manifestation of the phrase “just keep shooting.” Though self-doubt and imposter syndrome intimidated the best of us, Black Women Photographers celebrates the photographers who found introspection amidst the chaos of the pandemic.

As we continue to fulfill our promise of documenting these women changing the face of the media across the globe, here is a non-exhaustive directory of photographers who inspired us to pick up our cameras. From the photojournalists who documented the Black Lives Matter and #EndSars protests to the photographers who challenged the fashion industries during the Vogue cover challenges. Through their lens resides the reality of the fact that there are Black women photographers documenting gems everywhere. We just need to know where to look.

Check out our first post that kick-started it all here.

Keep adding to our list here. We will be giving out many more flowers soon.
